NZ’s TV Show, Agenda

A current affairs TV programme founded in 1999 in New Zealand that ran for an hour, Agenda was being aired on TV ONE specically by 8am on Sundays. Gray Taylor was the director while the executive producer was Richard Harman. The producers were Lottta Dann (Auckland) and Duncan Wilson (Wellington). The production location was precisely TVNZ Centre, Auckland, New Zealand. The show became shaky around late November 2008 after TVNZ disclosed that they cannot further their contract with the producers (Frontpage). The show was finally terminated in 2009 even though there were side guesses that another network might acquire it. It was finally replaced by Q+A on the Sunday morning space.

The Typical Agenda Show Format

Main political events of the past week were discussed with Rawdon Christie and the panelists for that week. The discussion was centred on political happenings from the week past, as the show went on, the guests were being interviewed by Guyon Espiner. Questions were also thrown at the guests from the panelists and a diary segment which was focused on in depth major political analysis was being treated after an ad break. The show came to an end with book giveaways.

Pre- Show Events

  • A pre-recorded piece of Jane Clifton, the NZ Listeners’ was played every week before a show commenced with content about political events of the previous week.
  • Diaries were being visited by reporters weekly and important events that occurred around the area were conversed with the owners.
